Association Activities
The PREAMBLE
ARISTON’ – the name chosen for our Department’s Association stands for what we are and what we believe. The very word ‘ARISTON’ means “The Best” which is exactly what we do always and what we aim to be.
‘RAMIRUS’ means “Wisdom” which basically stands for the fact that the raw energy and potential of our youth is backed by the wisdom and experience of our professors, alumni and mentors.
‘VARIUS’ means “Versatility” which is one of the highlights of our department. We don’t believe in producing one-trick ponies. We believe in versatility, creativity, flexibility and adaptability.
‘ZORTICUS’ means “Full of Life”. We as a department believe in enjoying whatever we do and that passion and cheer spreads over everything making it an excellent environment to work, learn and grow in.
The Student Association came into existence in the year 2006 and was branded as ARISTON in the year 2007.
THE HOUSE SYSTEM
To bring in competitive spirit among the students, the association is composed of 4 Houses named after renowned Management Gurus – Fayols, Taylors, Druckers and Maslows.
- Henri Fayol - Administrative Management thought
- F.W.Taylor – Scientific Management
- Abraham Maslow – Human Relations Movement
- Peter F Drucker – Management by Objectives and Performance Management.
These gurus are known for the following contribution to the management thought:
ARISTON - THE ORGANISATION
The Ariston Executive Council is comprised of 10 Prefects who would also double up as Project Managers for various events. We refer the team as Ariston T-10. It is mentored by the Head of the Department.
The T-10 is selected based on a rigorous interview conducted by the alumni of the department. The composition of T-10 would be 4 from III BBA, 4 from II BBA, and 2 from I BBA.
The Prefects from III BBA and II BBA will also officiate as House Captains and Vice-Captains respectively. The students selected from I BBA would be referred as Junior Prefects.
All the prefects will take charge of at least 1 event in Quadstorm 2011.
Project Ariston Premier League is conceived and coordinated by S.V.Vignesh of III BBA.
