Salient Features of the Course Content
The commerce education is undergoing sea of changes. To match with the recent trend computer accounting and introduction to software applications a separate paper with practical content has been introduced in the revised syllabus. A separate paper in financial management has been introduced as it is required for many professional courses. Accounting standards have been introduced at the undergraduate level for the first time being an autonomous college as it is becoming mandatory for the corporate reporting system. E-Commerce and E-Banking concepts are introduced to adapt the recent developments.
Internet facility is widely used and lots of power point presentations are given by the faculty. Latest developments in various commercial areas are being discussed periodically by inviting experts from industry. Thrust is being to impart latest skill on the use of practical accounting and exposure to subjects like financial services, stock market analysis, online trading, and all other employment generating avenue.
The department has introduced computer accounting as a compulsory paper for all students as economically weaker students can stand to gain with out spending for the same to make them employable and to impart additional knowledge in practical area. This is an innovation in the field of commerce.
