K.R. Sarveshwara Narayanan of BBA course of Evening College has passed 8 degrees in Trinity College of music with distinction and is now pursuing his higher level diploma in music. In 2010 he won the National Level Competition and was selected for the International Level of guitar competition.
P. Sarath Kumar, a very talented keyboard player of BBA course of Evening College, has won 1st place for singing and playing keyboard in the music academy. He also has participated in the National Carnatic Concert.
Veeramanikandan, of BBA course of Evening College (2008-2011 Batch), was a part of the College Kho-Kho team which placed 3rd at the YMCA. He was selected to represent the B-zone as a result of his performance.
Adarsh Kamath, of BBA course of Evening College (2008-2011 Batch), was a part of the College football team which won the Patrician Trophy, Vels Trophy and Hindu Trophy.
Karthik Kamath, of BBA course of Evening College (2010-2013 Batch) and Sriram R., of BBA course (2009-2012 Batch), is also a part of the College football team.
Guru Prasad, of BBA course of Evening College (2009-2012 Batch), and Vinith Kumar, of BBA course of Evening College (2010-2013 Batch) and Sabarish, of BBA course of Evening College (2010-2013 Batch) were a part of the College under 19 cricket team which finished as runner up I the Vodafone Trophy. Guru Prasad also represented the college in the A.M. Jain Trophy.
S. Dinesh Kumar, of BBA course of Evening College (2009-2012 Batch), and N. Chandrasekar of BBA course of Evening College (2009-2012 Batch), have represented the College in ball-badminton at the zonal level.

The Vivekananda College's Foot Ball Team won the State Level Inter Collegiate Fives Football Tournament held at Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty's Hindu College.
C.G. Gowtham, II year B.Com, won medals in All India Inter-University Swimming Championship held at Kolkata recently from 16th Aug to 21st Aug 2010.
C. G. Gowtham, II year B.Com, won the following medals in the Pre-Commonwealth Federation Cup organized by Federation of India
- Silver Medal in 200 mts INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY
- Bronze Medal 20 mts BACKSTROKE
- Silver Medal in 200 mts BUTTERFLY
S.Premnath won 1 gold and 1 siver medal
S.Premnath, B.A. Philosophy 3rd Year, participated in the All India Inter University meet held at Amritsar, Punjab in November 2009. He won one Gold Medal and one Silver Medal in Team events. He also received a cash award of Rs.3500/-. The events are:
- 4 x 200 MTS Free style Relay (Gold)
- 4 * 100 MTS Medley Relay (Silver)
Overall Championship
Students from 3rd year B.Sc. Computer Science and B.C.A. participated in the Inter Collegiate Symposium conducted by Madras Christian College on 4th and 5th March, 2010 and won the overall championship award.
Electrofest 2010 - Quiz Competition
G. Krishna Srinivasa Srikar (B.Sc. I Year Physics) and M. Balaji (B.Sc. I Year Physics) of our College have won 1st Prize in Quiz in the State Level Inter Collegiate Competition held on 2nd March 2010 conducted by the Department of Electronics & Communications Science of Dharmamurthi Rao Bahadur Calavala Cunnan Chetty's Hindu College (Evening) as a part of Electrofest 2010.
46th Annual Literary Competitions conducted by Chennai Port-Trust, Tamil Changam
Students of our College participated in oratorical and poetry competitions and own prizes. Overall memento has also been awarded to our College.
Friends of Police
Shri.R.Harsha Vardhan, The President and B.Venkateshwaran, Vice-President of our college Friends of Police [FOP] unit were honoured for their exemplary services rendered to the Friends of Police movement on 22nd December 2009. They received the award from Tmt.Letika Saran, DGP, TN Police; in the presence of Shri.Prasun Mukherjee, DG, BPR&D, Newdelhi.
Dr. S. Muthu participated in Saiva and Vaishnava Agama conference in Singapore and Malaysia.
Dr.S.Muthu, Assistant Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai-600004 participated in Saiva and Vaishnava Agama conferences in Singapore and Malaysia on 7th, 8th and 9th December 2009 and 10th and 11th December 2009 repectively.
Best Teacher award to Dr. M.A. Manickvelu, Reader in Tamil
Dr. M.A. Manickvelu, Reader in Tamil, Dept. of Tamil, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College has been awarded the BEST TEACHER for the academic year 2008-2009 by the Lions Club of Madras Golden City. He was awarded a shield and a gold medal by Thiru. K. Ganesan, I.A.S., Pricipal Secretary, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Tamilnadu on 06.09.2009.

Mr.Govindarajulu, research scholar working for his Ph.D. under Dr.T.S.Suryanarayanan has been invited by the Department of Biotechnolgy, University of Münster, Germany for 6 months from May 2009 to October 2009 to do advanced research there.
